Mrs. Tessum School Counselor

7-12 School Counselor, Ashley Tessum

Thank you for stopping by the Counselor's Page! I have had the privilege of working at Clay Central Everly
for 10 years now as the School Counselor. I have also taught Junior High English for the past three years. Throughout the past 10 years, I've coached various Junior High athletics. Last year I have moved up to the high school level and am the Assistant Girls Basketball coach.  It is great to work in the same school I graduated from years ago! I hope you will find my page helpful in finding the resources you need! Please use the column along the left side of the screen to navigate my page.

Tessum Family

Just a little about myself- I graduated from Clay Central/Everly in 2003. I continued my education at Iowa Lakes Community College graduating with my AA degree, and then I transferred to Buena Vista University, graduating in 2007 with my BA degree in Secondary English Education with a Reading endorsement. After substituting for a short time, I received a job offer at CC/E as the K-8 Counselor and small group Reading teacher. In 2013, I graduated from Buena Vista University once again with my Masters degree in Professional School Counseling. I have also enjoyed coaching a variety of sports, including Junior High girls basketball for 8 years, helping out with boys basketball and baseball for a few years, and now helping my father-in-law with high school girls basketball as the assistant coach.

I reside just outside of Everly, my hometown, where I live with my husband (my high school sweetheart) and three children. We are kept very busy with farm life and three very active children- we love every minute of it! In our free time we love camping and being outdoors. I also enjoy reading, photography, mowing/landscaping, and do-it-yourself projects.
